Portrait of a woman chemist

To apply, students should formulate a portrait of a woman from their country who has a career in chemistry or petrochemistry.

Both male and female students are encouraged to seek out a female chemist in their country engaged in research, academia or industry (pharma, sports, aviation, fragrances, detergents, etc.). Working with inquiry-based methods, students should conduct an interview which includes a short profile of the scientist’s career path, her passions and goals. The interview should also provide some insight into her achievements. Students are encouraged to imagine what kind of challenges they would like to address if they were in that scientist’s shoes.

Entries must include EITHER a 3 to 4 minute video interview of the female scientist conducted in the local language with a script translated into English, OR a Power Point presentation displaying pictures of their investigation and key content from the interview.
